Circular bioeconomy in the European social Dialogue

On November 3, AIMMP organized the 2nd National Seminar of the European Good Wood project, the theme of which was “The circular bioeconomy in the context of social dialogue”. The main objective of the event was to present and highlight the opportunities of social dialogue, in the wood and furniture sector, from the European Commission's strategy for the circular bioeconomy, focused on the use of raw materials and secondary products of biological origin, renewable sources and with low environmental impact. The objectives and activities carried out in the Good Wood project were presented, as well as the main data from the Portuguese wood and furniture sector. The renowned international consultant PricewaterhouseCoopers, supported by the know-how acquired through the development of various studies in the field of the circular economy, specifically, in the forest industries, has addressed the development potential of companies by implementing circularity strategies in the various phases of the their process. Finally, the opportunities for enhancing and modernizing professional careers in the sector were addressed by the training center for the wood and furniture industry, CFPIMM. The seminar had about 40 participants, including companies, technology centers, consultants, teaching bodies.
