Guidance and accompaniment activity models in order to improve the employability of individuals and the enhancement of learning and skills otherwise acquired

On 26 June 2019 the BCCI and CL "Podkrepa", engaged in the implementation of the "GOOD WOOD" project, organized a national meeting on the topic "Challenges before social dialogue in the Green Economy Cycle" with a focus on the sector of wood processing. The participants in the event were 23 representatives of:

  • woodworking industry;  
  • sectoral organizations;
  • BCCI project partner, CL Podkrepa;  
  • employer organizations represented at national level, involved in social dialogue;
  • trade unions represented at national level, involved in social dialogue;
  • public administration.

After the official opening of the meeting by Tvetan Simeonov, the president of BCCI, Beata Papazova and Miroslava Markova presented the "GOOD WOOD" project, outlining its objectives, activities and expected results. Gabriela Dimitrova from BCCI and Maria Petrova from CL "Podkrepa" shared EU practices applied in the field of green social dialogue, applicable to the green cycle economy, which is one of the priorities of the EU economic agenda.

Legal experts from BCCI and CL "Podkrepa" - Mihaela Mihailova and Andrian Illiev stressed the role of employers' organizations and trade unions in promoting the green dimensions and aspects of social dialogue. On behalf of the woodworking sector, Ms. Genoveva Hristova, president of the Bulgarian Furniture Cluster, highlighted the specific characteristics of the social dialogue in the woodworking sector and shared her experience in this field. The discussion focused on the challenges preceding the social dialogue in the context of the green cycle economy in the wood sector in particular. All participants received the Bulgarian version of the GOOD WOOD project flyer and some materials on social dialogue. The national meeting was closed by the president of the BCCI.
