The Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce hosted a national training seminar as part of the Good Wood project entitled "Circular Bio Economy in the European social dialogue". The event  organized in collaboration with was Bulgarian Podkrepa Syndicate. The project aims to strengthen social dialogue and achieve a reorganization of production and management in the wood sectors. The project, which started in early 2019, covers a partnership with business organizations, trade unions and universities in Italy, Portugal, Belgium and Bulgaria.

The thematic focus of the national seminar was the circular bioeconomy and its impact on social dialogue. Representatives of BCCI and the Bulgarian “Podkrepa” Syndicate presented the project, its objectives, planned actions and expected results and gave a short presentation of what has been done so far during the implementation of the project.

The speakers focused their presentations on social dialogue and its new dimensions in view of the circular bioeconomy, on the one hand, and on the main aspects of the circular bioeconomy in the wood sector and on sustainable and coherent models of non-waste, production and consumption, on the other.

The objectives of the seminar were to discuss the applicability of the circular bioeconomy in the woodworking sector, to clarify its positive and negative sides, to outline the factors and preconditions for the circular bioeconomy and its impact on employers, workers, employees and trade unionists.

Some EU good practices have been shared. An international training and a meeting on the project are planned for March in Sofia. BCCI will continue to report on the matter.
